I have added a new forum topic “Living Wisely” (Share your ideas, tips, and helpful hints for a healthy, frugal hearth and lifestyle).
I was inspired by Mama Kelly’s post the other day, How Much Further, where she talks about her plans and determination to live healtheir and more frugally.
Excerpt
“living cheaper forces you to look at what you can really do without and that means that you start using less, buying less, until one day you realize that you are suddenly living a bit simpler, perhaps a little closer to the hearth, perhaps even a little closer to the land as you make more from scratch and perhaps even (come the spring and summer to come) grow some of your own food as well. I find that when I manage to whip up a good meal on the cheap I feel like I’m working magic. I find that serving my family food imbued with my love feels like an act of ritual.
“Living Wisely” – with a focus on being frugal and healthy is definitely related to being Wiccan (craft of the wise) and creating a Wiccan and/or nature oriented, spiritual lifestyle.
Along with being frugal, there is also finding ways reducing your footprint (amount of trash, plastic, etc.) that your consumption produces – which is beneficial to Mother Earth (definitely a wiccan way to live) – i.e., having less junk foods, prepacked stuff, etc. you have less waste. And of course, buying locally from farm markets – which saves money, supports local economy, and less gas used to transport the food, etc. etc.
Please stop by our forum and share your ideas and tips for creating a frugal, healthy lifestyle.

An excellent article from the Homebuilders Show — with proof that folks are turning away from McMansions — and going for “right-sized” homes. It is interesting to note that the only appliance that is selling well these days are freezers — because more people are taking advantage of bargains, overstocks, leftovers and canning or freezing fresh food.
