Ok I’m done, no really I am, honest! have finished shopping for the party!!  well except for some poster board I need, and stencil paint – and of course the food – BUT everything else is done!  

We went to see the fire house hall again last night – I had to sign the contract so hubby and my daughter came along.  I got to make more notes and have a much better idea of space and layout and what is needed for decorating — so I made some small purchases today on ebay and online to round things out.

I needed to get some small plates to serve the cake on – and I wanted to get the one’s with Harry and Hedwig – took some searching, (they are getting hard to find cause they were made a few years ago and now the designs have changed) – but I found a shop that still had them, so I got plates, some napkins with the four houses on them (just to add a bit more of a Hogwarts touch), and of course thank you cards (with Harry & Hedwig design)!   (which I had forgotten about until I saw them)  I already have black and gold utensils, plates, napkins etc for the big feast.

I also found a very cool golden (painted) 14 inch Griffin Gargoyle statue on ebay for 99 cents!!!     the bid is up in about an hour – so hopefully I’ll get it.    99 cents how can I NOT get it  hehehe   and it will look very cool – and besides I need some big stuff cause the room is so big.

I also realized I needed balloons – what is a birthday without balloons!!  – at least one or two outside so folks know which door to come in to find the party. So in my search for balloons I found a BIG 44 inch hedwig balloon – it is so awesome I had to have it – only $5.99 – but being so cool, I don’t want to use this outside and will keep it inside.   I also found a set of 6 ballons for only $13.99 – it includes 3 large regular happy birthday balloons, and 3 different Harry Potter ballongs, a star, a round one, and the new star cluster balloon (which goes for about $8 all by itself).     So I can use one of the HP balloons outside, and still have the other HP balloon to add with the 3 regulat ballons to make a nice cluster, and then I still have the star cluster also (the star cluster is a big star with Harry on it, with 4 smaller stars around it with Hermione, Ron, Hogwarts crest and something else on them).

So now that the shopping is done – the creating can begin as well as the organizing.  So lots of glue, paint, sparkles and a touch of magic and I’ll be able to whip up one heck of a party
