Three Broomsticks Inn

The Three Broomsticks Inn

Back to HP Party Index.

We decorated behind the bar with cob webs. On the bar at one end we had a misting glass bowl, in the center we had a big bunch of Harry Potter birthday balloons.

Menu with Recipes

Snacks:

Pumpkin Pastries – (made 9 dozen) The kids loved these and the left overs I put two to three in snack zip lock bags to give out to the siblings if they came with the parents for pick up. I made the muffins using pumpkin muffin tins which made them small (one or two bites) but the actual face of the jack-o-lantern in the tins didn’t really show up. May have been because of the muffin batter being too light – so not sure how it work using the actual recipes that came with the muffin tins. I will find recipe I used to post – it is some where.

These were served on a large platter, with orange sugar sprinkles and candy pumpkins scattered on top.

Wizard Cakes – served on a large platter, rice krispie treats with milk chocolate and peanut butter chips, cut into small squares, with star & moon candy sprinkles on top. I was originally going to cut these into various shapes using star, moon, etc. cookie cutters but it was just not working out. I wrapped them individually with plastic wrap because they were sticky, and I figured kids could take them home too if they wanted to.

Cauldron Popped Corn – microwave bags of kettle corn, poured into black bowls at each of the four tables at the Inn.

Dragon Scales – purple chips mixed with a bag of veggie chips that were yellow, orange and green; served in large black bowl.

Troll Booger Cheesy Dip – 1 BIG block of velveeta cheese, about a 1 lb of cooked ground beef, 1 jar of salsa. Melt cheese in microwave, stir in beef and salsa. (Kids and adults loved it!) Served in microwavable black container (with lid).

Forbidden Forest Crudities – two platters of store bought veggie trays (with dip in the center) and one fruit tray. Added a few silk vines (from a $1 store) and sprinkled with gummy frogs. I was originally going to try and make a fancy “forest” with carved veggies and hard boiled egg ghosts – but decided I was too exhausted and to many to feed so decided not to. I was also going to put a spider web design in the dip using catsup and a toothpick but decided not too (perhaps for a smaller party I would but figured by the time the first two or three kids got dip no one else would see it any way).

Flooberworm Crunch Mix – chex mix in a big black bowl, added sour gummy worms.

Beverages:

Pumpkin Juice – in a large plastic punch bowl, didn’t really follow a recipe. Large bottle of mango juice, 1 large frozen orange juice and 3 cans of water, 1 half gallon of vanilla ice cream, a splast of pumpkin syrup.

Butterbeer – root beer, scoop of vanilla ice cream, splash of butterscotch syrup

Gillywater – lemonade with a splash of blue food coloring, served with a colorful toothpick filled with pineapple chunks and grapes (we forgot the grapes at home but everyone enjoyed it any way).

Cherry Soda – black cherry soda with a cherry and tiny umbrella (we originally planned on using 7 UP with added cherry syrup – but the bar 7 UP supply was empty so we ran out to the store for the black cherry soda.)
