Today I am grateful for Princess Nibbles’ helpful spirit. She kept me company while I cooked on Friday afternoon and helped form meatballs, she came food shopping with me on Saturday, pushed the cart and helped me both load and unload the trunk.
Today I am grateful that Miss Artistic has such good friends. She spent Friday afternoon out at the Mall (and haivng dinner over their house) with one and then Saturday another friend spent the day (and had dinner) here.
Today, I am grateful for having pushed a bit when it was time to decide wether or not to buy the extended warranty when we purchased our car almost 9 years ago. We’ve had a few covered repairs over the last couple of years but we dropped off our car Friday night, picked it up Saturday, after having $2000 worth of repairs done for only $100 out of pocket. My favorite part of these repairs was knowing that come summer that my car’s (did I mention it was a black car in which I can cook an egg during July & August) air conditioning will be working. Even better? I still have another year left on said warranty.
Today I am grateful, probably most of all, for giving myself the gift Saturday of doing very little. Instead I spent time playing Viva Pinata and relaxing. Should I have tended to other tasks? Probably. Did it do wonders for me to simply allow myself to have some R&R – most certainly.
