For Harry Potter and The Taekwondo School

Category: Blog Your Blessings, Humor & Memes, Mama Kelly's Musings | Written by Mama Kelly

Today I am grateful for making the decision (and the financial sacrifice) to send my kids to Taekwondo.  I have watched their confidence increase dramatically as well as watched them master skills they never would have otherwise. Today will find us attending their annual picnic and I am looking forward to a day of fun and sun (although not so much the screaming children and the requisite small talk with other parents) and not having to cook.

Today I am grateful for the lovely weather we’ve been enjoying.  I love being able to sit in the sun (maybe once a week) and have the windows open, letting sweet scented (I swear I can smell the suntan lotion from the community pool a couple of blocks away) breezes in.

Today I am grateful for getting some decent sleep the last two nights.  Not only do I feel less exhausted, but I even managed some dreams.  With the emotionally depleting week I just came off of I feel a little better equipped to go back to work tomorrow.

Today I am grateful for Harry Potter.  The movie was fun, not as good as the book of course, and as always the Universe that each allows me a glimpse of is a pleasant diversion from reality.  I look forward to the next two movies and dream (without much actual hope) that one day by JK Rowling (or someone she hand-picks) will continue writing books set in the glorious world she created.

Blessings

I was disappointed in the movie, since this was my favorite book and all about Snape and that wasn’t conveyed in the least in this movie. Sigh…

I had my expectations built up pretty high and was disappointed. It was “fun” but only skimmed the surface of what should’ve been the meatiest movie to date.

I can rationalize why they made so many changes and edits but as a fan wish it had been truer to the book.
