Ever have one of those days … or in my case, nights?
Yesterday I cam home work exhausted. The last few nights I haven’t really been sleeping well and was really starting to feel it. Alas, we had to go out and pick up the original dress we had altered and see if the same seamstress could alter the other dress I had bought in time for 8th grade graduation.
Now the original dress is as good as it is going to get. It is not great. But, hopefully with her accessories, make-up, and an up-do we will be able to have her happy enough with her appearance. The second dress could not be altered in the way I had hoped and it will have to be returned to the store (luckily we found another outfit tonight – capri-length slacks and a top that she is happy in). Overall thought we came home disappointed.
Miss Artistic was having a difficult time with her moontime so she rested and after Advil had kicked in we fed her and her sister, and ourselves as well. Not an hour later I heard a strange sound come down the hall from the upstairs bathroom, followed by the cry of “Oh God! I’m sorry”.
Well I walked into the bathroom to find vomit everywhere. Unfortunately Miss Artistic has horrible periods and there are some indications that she may have inherited my endometriosis.
As I cleaned it up (a feat, let me tell you) I heard Princess Nibbles crying in her bedroom. She came in to the bathroom (avoiding the large pool of goo) having lost 2 baby teeth at once (after just losing another baby tooth on Saturday) with a good deal of blood for her trouble. While I continued cleaning, she stood rinsing and spitting. She is temporarily dubbed Toothless Wonder.
I love my girls, don’t misunderstand that, but an hour like the one I spent last night would make for excellent birth control if you made it a mandatory activity in a high school health class. LOL
Blessings
Mama Kelly
PS in the bright side, all of this shopping has allowed me to find a great store when its time for Miss Artistic to go to a prom and thanks to Lady Rose I now know of a woman who can make custom clothing so never again should we have to endure this
