Not all that much new since last I sat down and blogged.

Saturday I took the girls (and one of Miss Artistic’s friends) out to the Mall. The purpose was a clothes shopping outing as a belated 15th birthday present and it included a second ear piercing (originally promised for her 13th birthday) as well. She got a lot of much needed and very stylish clothing and we made out like bandits. J C Penney had some great items on deep discounts and clearance racks which when combined with two gift cards allowed us to come home with a ton of new looks.

Now we also picked up a few things for Princess Nature as well. We hit Justice, a store I normally cannot afford, but did very well by combining clearance racks, coupons, and a gift card.

We had dinner out at Friendly’s and stopped at Claire’s before leaving where they were having a 10 for $10 sale and so more deeply discounted items came home from there as well.

I wasted most of Sunday surfing around on ancestry.com. I’ve had a family tree there for a while but recently spent the $20 to have “full access” for a month as Princess Nature had to do a family immigration project and so we had to track down some dates and names. Of course I want to maximize the value of my subscription cost (as I do not plan on keeping it beyond the month) and (since I can’t trace my own family back any further than I have without upgrading to a “world subscription”) so I spent hours hunting and pecking and trying to trace Gamer Dude’s family back to Captain Kidd, which according to his family folklore he is descended from. I am still about 150 years away from him, but maybe by the time my month is up I’ll have tracked him down.

In the meantime, we are one step closer to life in Mama Kelly’s household returning to normalcy. Hopefully, in another month or so (given no unforeseen circumstances) I will be able to breathe long and deep enough to hear my muse again and get back to some serious blogging.
