I have been a bit remiss in my blog posting as well as my blog reading.  My laptop is sick and wont be repaired for a couple of weeks.  Right now we are waiting for the girls’ computer to get out of the shop and I’ll wait a couple of weeks before putting mine in to save us the sticker shock.

My time on the one remaining computer in the house is limited as I am sharing it with 3 other people and I am generally not able to get on it in the evenings very much and can’t get on it at all in the morning.  I do plan to work my way back to your regularly scheduled programming soon though – one way or another.

For this week’s Pagan Video Tuesday I share a piece I found on Hecate’s blog a couple of days ago.  While I watched it my heart swelled and my eyes filled with tears.  Yes because it was beautiful and moving and touching in so many ways but also because I long so much to be part of a Pagan community again.

I miss having a group of people to grapevine about the circle with.

I miss having people to sit and toast the Gods and Goddesses with.

I miss having no excuses when it came to honoring the Esbats and Sabbats.

I miss not being a Witch alone.

I spent a few moments on Samhain evening listening to the wind rushing through the dying leaves and whispered my wishes to my ancestors.  I asked them to pull some strings for me.  Desires that revolve around hearth and finances and a home of our own, one day, in the country.

I forgot to ask for this one thing for myself and so I whisper it here in cyberspace and pray that my ancestors don’t mind pulling another string or two that will bring some likeminded folk my way.

I have family.

I have friends.

But, frankly, I’m still feeling a bit lonely.

In any case – may the dance spiral on – may the circle never be broken – may we each find renewal and healing and hope.

I cam across CharmingPixieFlora on youtube and decided immediately that her Lammas videos were just what I wanted to feature this week. Her approach to Paganism is so simplt and practical and her energy and enthusiasm are contagious.

Yes its that time again – Pagan Video Tuesday. One of the things about me that you might not know is that I have been fascinated by and drawn to ASL (american sign language) since grade school. It probably began when I got my first pair of glasses and the doctor told me I was legally blind without them, a phrase my 9 year old mind took to mean “going blind” though I was too scared to ask anybody to clarify.

This fear led me to discover Helen Keller (who is still one of my heroes) and to read books on her, her teacher Annie Sullivan, and even Louis Braille. I also tried to try and teach myself both braille and sign language. I have retained a few words and phrases in the later and still hope to one day take a course in it and learn to speak it more “fluently.”

I came across this video over 2 years ago at Deaf Pagan Crossroads and thought you might enjoy it as much as I did.

This video runs a little over 10 minutes, reviews some tools common to Wiccan practice, and gives us a little tour of one man’s altar.

This is part of a video series put together by Eruchye, whose goal is to “show pagans around the world that they can come out of the “broom closet” and be proud” of who they are. Eruchye is a member of the US Armed Forces and is also a Reiki Master.

If the ‘net and Youtube had been part of society when I was in high school, oh what an easier time I would’ve had of it in finding my path. Though, I have to admit, some of the wonder of it all came from the hunt for information – the digging through bookshelves at libraries to the shelves of my local Waldenbooks. Some of my earliest memories of my earliest days in the Craft revolve around the rare trips to Manhattan (or New Hope) to pick up incense or books not available anywhere else.

Aside from those personal musings, I have to give credit to Eruchye for his growing series of educational videos. They are a wonderful resource for someone new to the path, or for someone who simply wants to understand it better in general.

Seriously, I need to watch this video daily, it is so beautiful and inspiring. I found it over on the Pagan Magick blog.

So much of my day is spent mired in mundania. I work at a job I hate. I stress too much about too many things (some warranted, some not so much). I leave myself little to no time to be a Witch outside of the energies I put into this blog.

Taking a few moments out of my day to view a motivational and spirit renewing video like this one is a quick and easy way to connect with that part of myself which has little room for expression.
