While I don't dye eggs anymore, we grew up decorating eggs each year at Easter. It was fun hanging with the family and being creative.

Hi me dear...just want to add that many times, with the natural dyes, the colors are very light, and you are right, it takes a long, long time to color them at all. Also, colors you think will be blue or purple will more likely be gray...BUT let me tell you, if you take a plate or basket, and line it with either pulled up grass or moss or Spanish Moss, and place the eggs in it, and tuck in edible flowers all around, the eggs look really nice even with the light and unusual colors.

I like to give my dogs some of the eggs. They enjoy "peeling" them and throwing them around before eating them up. Even my cats will play with an egg for a bit.
